Richard Hallows

Senior Interface/UX Developer

I've over twelve years' experience building interfaces for leading design agencies and product teams.

I've been a freelancer for ten years, during which time I've worked on award-winning (Cannes CyberLions, FWA's Site of the Month and D&AD Yellow Pencils) projects for clients including Google Creative Lab and GEOX at agencies like Stinkdigital.

Prior to this, I was the Interface Lead at Tonic, where I worked on creative projects for the likes of London Fashion Week and Rankin.

Over the past few years, I've specialised in CSS architecture, design systems and responsive web design. I advise teams on how to write maintainable CSS systems for their responsive React and Angular digital products.

Recently, I co-authored stylelint—a modern and open source CSS linter. Written in JavaScript for Node.js and used by GitHub and Facebook.

Richard did great work for us in pulling apart our spaghetti front-end codebase and giving us the tools to put it back together in a clear and maintainable way. He gave us our Design System, which we still use, and which forms the backbone of our site structure. Highly recommended.
