Sam Edwards

Freelance copywriter

Brain for hire: squidgy, full of ideas, GSOH. Clients include Disney, Jaguar Land Rover, Investec and Wonderbly.

In 2012 I switched from music consultancy to writing. Ta da! Over the past few years I’ve written glossy brochures for luxury cars, web words for creative agencies, brand stories for office buildings, unicorn driving tests, airline newsletters, and more—some of which you can find on my website www.most-played.com

(And yep, I also do more "corporate" writing... Take a look at 6KBW Law Chambers and London Strategy Unit on my site for some examples.)

Recommendations

This is really annoying. I’m recommending Sam even though I want her to come back and work for us again. It’s like writing a dating profile for my estranged wife. Sam has a rare ability to be both hilarious and disciplined. There is a lightness of touch to her writing that makes it a joy to read. And (when you want it to be) it’s very funny too. She is also very dedicated, interrogating the brief and asking questions to ensure what she delivers hits the mark. Beneath her playful wit there is a sense of earnestness that she wants to make the time she spends count. And if something needs rewriting, she’ll do it without a sniff. This is one of the greatest skills a commercial writer can have: the discipline to put the work before the art. No brief is too small or frivolous. Everything deserves good writing and Sam will deliver it. Come back, you fool.

Sam collaborated with Six:Thirty on a positioning project for a technology brand. The work ranged from writing positioning statements to tone of voice guides and marketing messages. Sam was great to work with, with the ability to match strategic thinking with creative copywriting.
